Why I Started Blogging – my story

As you may have read in my ‘About Me’ page, I have suffered a fate that you wouldn’t even wish upon your enemy. I lost my beautiful baby boy when he was 16 months old.

He was my everything, he became my purpose of life. Anything and everything I did was for him. I realised that I had the truest love I could ever find. I had him, I didn’t need anything else.

When God decided he wanted his angel back, my world collapsed. In the early days there was just this blanket of disbelief, of falsehood and at that point my sister in law sent me an article from the Huffington Post written by Author Sandy Peckinpah. She told the story about the loss of her son and how she was advised to write, write her feelings so that she could have some release. Having done so, she advised all parents who had gone through the same heart ache to do the same.

I wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first and kind of kept it in my back pocket. I then read ‘The one plus one’ by JoJo Moyes and saw how one of the characters overcame some challenges in his life and managed to turn around the lives of his loved ones by simply starting a blog.

The combination of these two things and the fact that every single day that I moved further into a future without my baby boy, my heart broke more and more, I decided to take the step and give this a go.

So here you go, I’m Broken Mother and this is my first blog.
